PATRICK MCCLANAHAN

My name is Patrick and I am an Assitant Professor in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department at the University of Alabama. In my work I focus on how individual and situational factors and individual factors influence criminal decision-making. To do so, I design novel virtual reality scenarios and situations in which a crime could occur. I place people with experience with crime in these (virtual) situations to understand when a crime is likely to occur. This helps us understand what situations and people are likely to commit crime, as a result, how to best prevent it.
